In appreciation of their service to our nation, USS Lexington Museum Executive Director, Steve Banta, has announced that veterans, active duty, and reserve members of the United States military service will receive free admission to the Museum on Veterans Day, Thursday, November 11, 2021.
Beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Veterans Day, in Hangar Bay II, the USS Lexington Museum will host its annual “Salute to Veterans” ceremony. The Veterans Band will be aboard to play patriotic music, and the South Texas Chief’s Mess will be participating with U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officers from the following local commands: CNATRA, NAS Corpus Christi, NMRTC Corpus Christi, NOSC Corpus Christi, and NOSC Harlingen. The Color Guard will be comprised of newly selected Chief Petty Officers. These individuals are undergoing leadership training, and as part of their training will have the honor of participating in this ceremony. The ceremony if free and open to the public.
