“A date which will live in infamy…” -President Franklin D. Roosevelt
Pearl Harbor: Course of Valor
This state-of-the-art multi-media exhibit, on Tour Route 2 in the ship’s foc’sle, features a film montage that retells the story of the attack on Pearl Harbor, enveloping you in this historic and devastating event. A graphic map of Pearl Harbor at a 1/2400 scale sets the scene with models of the ships docked in position, just as they were on the day of that fateful attack.
The events unfold in front of your eyes through realistic battle animations, an 8,000-watt sound system, and transducers that shake the walkway with each rumbling explosion. To the side, you will see the Japanese plan of attack as a 1941 model radio fills the air with FDR’s famous address to Congress, “A Date Which Will Live in Infamy.”
