CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — The USS Lexington Museum will host its 33rd Annual Stage Door Canteen on Friday, February 20, 2026, celebrating the ship’s commissioning on February 17, 1943. This annual fundraising event recreates the spirit of World War II–era Canteen shows, when entertainers performed for servicemen and women at home and abroad.
The evening features live music by the USS Lexington Big Band, guest vocalists, dancing, appetizers, a cash bar, and complimentary valet parking. Guests are encouraged to dress in business casual, 1940s-era attire, or WWII military uniforms.
Attendees and sponsors may donate tickets or table seats to provide local military personnel with a memorable night. The museum will invite individuals from nearby military installations on the donor’s behalf.
Sponsorships are available through February 9, 2026, with tables of 10 starting at $1,000. Sponsorship levels of $3,000 and $5,000 include a bottle of Limited-Edition Blue Ghost Bourbon, crafted with blue corn exclusively for the USS Lexington Museum by Chapline Distillery, a veteran-owned Texas distillery. The bourbon will also be featured in the silent auction and available at the cash bar.
The museum gratefully thanks its current sponsors: Joseph Wise, Jr. and Merrill Lynch, Angie & Kent Britton, Kleberg Bank, McCracken Salazar Hale Bhakta Group, Hicks Automotive, TRIROCK Energy, and First Community Bank. Proceeds support ongoing restoration and maintenance of the USS Lexington Museum.
