CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Lexington Museum Board President Jay Wise has announced plans for the 23rd Annual Stage Door Canteen to be held aboard the USS LEXINGTON Museum on Friday, 12 February 2016 at 7:00 PM. The upcoming event will commemorate the 73rd anniversary of the commissioning of USS LEXINGTON CV-16.
Rocco Montesano, Museum Executive Director, said this year’s show will recreate the Canteen shows from WW II when famous entertainers traveled the world performing for service men and women far from home. Headlining the star-studded cast will be the USS LEXINGTON Big Band Orchestra. Celebrated vocal artists Jason Armstrong, Geri Elliff, Flicka Rahn, Carla Gardiner and Christine Skinner, will perform songs of the era. Scott Plant is back this year and will entertain you with his fiddle! Described as a magical evening of nostalgia, the show has been a complete sell-out for the last twenty-two years.
Tickets are $60 per couple, $35 single for open seating. Reserved tables for ten are available for either $400 or $500. Advance ticket purchase is required – tickets will not be sold at the door. Major credit cards are accepted.
