Corpus Christi – One of the last Navy TH-57C Sea Ranger training helicopters will make its final landing on the flight deck of the USS Lexington Museum on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, where it will be transferred from naval service to the historic museum during a ceremony scheduled at 1:00PM. The ceremony is open to the public, included with paid general admission to the museum.
The retirement and transfer of this helicopter is part of the Navy’s transition to the new TH-73A Thrasher training helicopter. This transition is nearing completion, with only 25 of the older TH-57C aircraft remaining in service. Prior to the ceremony, both the TH-57C and a TH-73A will land on the bow of the LEX. Both aircraft will then shut down, allowing guests to get a closer view after the ceremony.
