Corpus Christi – Discover a new hero at the USS Lexington Museum during the Blue Ghost comic book launch party on March 16th, from 10am – 4pm. The Blue Ghost creator and artist, Juan Carlos Ramos, will sign purchased copies of the new comic for guests. Entry to the event is included with paid general admission to the museum.
The comic book features USS Lexington as a Mechanized Robot Guardian (M.R.G.). The mission of the Blue Ghost is to protect human existence against a notorious group known only as VIRUS.
Ramos, along with his business partner, Blue Ghost Managing Director Vincent Barraza, and Blue Ghost Chief Editor Steve Banta (USS Lexington Museum’s Executive Director) will share details about the process of creating the character and the comic during a panel discussion. Guests will also have an opportunity to ask questions during a panel Q&A.
Throughout the event, Ramos will live sketch onto a special issue’s blank cover that will be given away to a guest later that day. Various photo ops will be available for guests to be part of the Blue Ghost Universe, including an appearance from VIRUS!
This is the only time that all five variant covers of the comic book will be available for purchase in one place. Guests will receive a 10% discount on a minimum purchase of 3 covers. Merchandise including shirts, koozies, stickers, and posters will also be available for purchase.
The collaboration between Juan Carlos Ramos and the USS Lexington Museum is an opportunity to merge education with entertainment, termed “Edutainment.” While the comic is fictional, there are connections with the history of USS Lexington, with parts of the ship shown in the book. Museum guests can visit those areas, with a listing of those locations provided during the event.
