CORPUS CHRISTI – The USS Lexington Museum will once again welcome the Corpus Christi Hooks as they hold batting practice on the flight deck of the retired aircraft carrier on Saturday, May 25, at 11:00 a.m. The batting practice is open to the public, with paid general admission to the museum.
Select Hooks players and VIP guests will take a swing at launching homers off the flight deck toward Corpus Christi Bay. The event is part of the team’s Blue Ghosts Weekend celebration, May 24-26, when the Hooks take the field as the Corpus Christi Blue Ghosts, borrowing the nickname of the USS Lexington for Memorial Day weekend. The weekend games honor all military service members and veterans, but especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice in serving their country. Hooks players will wear special edition jerseys and caps, with limited quantities available for purchase at Whataburger Field.
Tickets for the Hooks baseball games during Blue Ghosts Weekend are available to purchase online at www.cchooks.com. Attendees of the Corpus Christi Hooks Blue Ghosts Weekend games will receive a $3 discount on general admission to the USS Lexington Museum, May 24-26, by showing their ticket at the admissions booth. Similarly, general admission USS Lexington Museum visitors, May 24-26, will receive a $3 discount on tickets for Corpus Christi Hooks Blue Ghosts Weekend games, by showing their museum receipt at the Hooks box office. All discounts are one per person, per tickets/admissions originally purchased.
