Corpus Christi, TX – On October 14, 2023, an Annular, or “Ring of Fire,” solar eclipse will occur, with Corpus Christi, Texas in the prime viewing path. The centerline of the eclipse, where durations last the longest in any one area along the path, crosses directly through the center of Corpus Christi. The result is a duration of annularity approximately 5 minutes and 2 seconds, visible from the flight deck of the USS Lexington Museum.
The sun will not be completely blocked by the moon during the Annular Eclipse, requiring special eye protection to safely view the eclipse. The first 100 visitors aboard the USS Lexington Museum on Saturday, October 14th, starting at 9am, will receive a free pair of Soluna Solar Eclipse Glasses that are CE and ISO Certified Safe Shades. Access to the flight deck is included with general admission to the USS Lexington Museum. The flight deck is standing room only; guests are not allowed to bring chairs.
