The Crew Relies on Volunteer Help in Many Areas of the Ship
The USS LEXINGTON is seeking volunteers to lend a hand in several areas of the ship. A mere ten hours per month is required.
The ship is open seven days a week, so every volunteer can choose the day and time that best fits his/her schedule. No experience required - we supply all training and materials.

CART DRIVER
Greet visitors. Drive the cart that provides transportation up and down the pier.
TOUR STATION
Learn a tour route aboard the ship (training provided). Answer visitors' questions as they self-guide themselves around the ship.
TOUR GUIDE
Meet groups at the admissions booth and tour the entire ship with them, explaining exhibits along the way.
EDUCATION HELPER
Present educational information in one of the four programs offered (training provided). Students range from kindergarden to high school.
MAINTENANCE
Paint, weld, sandblast, clean decks, janitorial work, wash airplanes, etc. Some specialty work requires a license.
YOUTH OVERNIGHT PROGRAM
Assist participating groups in navigating the ship, conduct tours, set up chairs, coffee, etc. for group activities.
SHIP LIBRARY
Assist patrons in finding books that correspond with their research topic, answer visitor questions about the ship.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Greet and welcome visitors, direct guests around ship, conduct tours (may involve evening and/or day time hours.
SHIP'S STORE
Fold and place merchandise on shelves for sale, inventory shipments, etc.
