T-2C Buckeye

The T-2C Buckeye was developed in the late 1950s and is a tandem-seat, carrier-capable, all-purpose jet trainer. It is used for training Navy and Marine Corps pilots and Naval Flight Officers. The elevated rear cockpit gives the instructor good forward visibility over the student.

The aircraft is equipped with underwing strong points to carry bombs, rockets or gun pods for armament training. It is also equipped with an arresting hook for carrier landings.

Most Buckeyes have been replaced by the T-45 Goshawk, but some remain in service.
